　　For most high school students, being able to enter a prestigious university is the first huge successin their life. My friend Jenny was one of them. She received the notice from her ideal university acouple of days after the college entrance examination. In the second year of high school, shedecided on her target university. The strong atmosphere of humanities and academic study there aswell as the city where the school is located attracted her. But the admission score of thatuniversityfar exceeded Jenny's usual grades. Although Jenny felt anxious for the huge gap between her ambition and the reality at the beginning, she didn’t lose heart(灰心) easily, instead she bestirred herself(振作起來 focused herself and strove for her goals by spending more time on study than ever before, especially in the subject of math which she was not good at. She took the saying “ A slowsparrow should make an early start” as her motto in her preparation for the finalexam. Therefore,piles of workbooks were bought to help her preview and review lessons and she even burned the midnight oil(熬夜) to do massive exercises. In the end, the day she received the notice from her ideal university, she burst into tears of joy as her efforts had finally paid off. I feelsincerely happy for her success, and get to understand at the same time that “Rome is not built in one day(羅馬不是一天建成的)” but requires perseverance and hardworking and long periods of hardwork.
