King正在給Dan講自己最近的一次旅行，他們回家路上車胎爆了（Wegotaflattire），正說(shuō)得高興，King發(fā)現(xiàn)Dan根本沒(méi)在聽(tīng)自己說(shuō)話。Dan很不好意思，承認(rèn)他走神了（Ispacedoutforasecond），spaceout是“走神”的意思，形容“心不在焉”，“走神”還可以用daydream來(lái)表示,所以剛才那句話也可以說(shuō)“Iwasdaydreamingforasecond.”

然后King發(fā)現(xiàn)，Dan走神是在看女同事Julie。Dan只好承認(rèn)說(shuō)“I'mbusted.IhaveabigcrushonJulie”。“I'mbusted”意思是“被抓住了，被發(fā)現(xiàn)了，暴露了”。他說(shuō)自己確實(shí)在偷偷喜歡Julie，但又不敢askherout（約她出去），不知道這樣做是否合適。

D:I'vealwayshadareallyhardtimeapproachingwomen.Igettongue-tiedandstartsweating.Idon'twanttoeacrossastooaggressive,butIalsodon'twanttoappeartoopassive...It'sreallyhardtogetitright!

King說(shuō)，很多人都是在工作場(chǎng)所遇到自己另一半的，significantother是“伴侶”的意思，也可以說(shuō)是自己的betterhalf。Dan害怕被拒絕，King告訴他說(shuō)Nothingventured,nothinggained（不去冒險(xiǎn)嘗試，就絕不會(huì)有收獲）。Dan說(shuō)自己在追女人方面特別不在行，Igettongue-tiedandstartsweating（我說(shuō)話會(huì)結(jié)結(jié)巴巴，直冒冷汗）。Dan還說(shuō)，既不想顯得太主動(dòng)，也不想顯得太被動(dòng)，It'sreallyhardtogetitright（很難把握好分寸）。

King說(shuō)嘗試一下（約Julie出去）也不會(huì)有什么損失，最糟糕也不過(guò)是被拒絕。Dan問(wèn)，要不襡upwithsomecleverorwittyremark（想出一些俏皮話），King告訴他，約女人出去，直截了當(dāng)些就好，womendon'tgoforcheesypickuplines（女人對(duì)俏皮的搭訕并不買賬）。Dan會(huì)鼓起勇氣約Julie出去嗎？
